At Cramer Capital Management, we talk a lot about long-term investment strategy — but some of our most meaningful investments have nothing to do with markets or portfolios. For more than five years, we have made a deliberate commitment to investing in the young people of Smithville, Missouri, by opening our doors to local student interns and giving them the chance to discover what a career in finance and wealth management can look like.
We believe that the best way to strengthen our community is to nurture the talent already within it. That’s why our internship program was never designed as a formality. From day one, our interns work alongside our advisors, engage with real client scenarios, and develop skills that go far beyond any textbook. We take seriously the responsibility of being a first step for ambitious young people, and we’ve watched with pride as many of those students have gone on to build outstanding careers in finance — some right here in our own backyard.
No story illustrates this better than that of Lindsay Peters. Lindsay first joined us as an intern at age 16, spending her summers at Cramer Capital and quickly proving that her curiosity and drive were something special. Over three summers, she developed a real appreciation for the work we do and the clients we serve. Rather than moving on and never looking back, Lindsay let that experience shape her entire academic path — graduating in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Banking, and earning certificates in both Investments and Personal Financial Planning.
During her time in college, Lindsay didn’t slow down. She led financial planning clubs, traveled to national conferences in Columbus, Miami, and Las Vegas to network and grow alongside peers from across the country, and in 2025 took home second place at the FPA Financial Planning Challenge — one of the most competitive student financial planning competitions in the nation. When it came time to begin her professional career, Lindsay chose to come home. She officially joins the Cramer Capital Management team on June 1, 2026, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have her back.
Lindsay’s journey is a testament to what becomes possible when a community invests in its youth. We are grateful to every student who has trusted us with a piece of their story, and we remain committed to continuing that tradition for years to come. If you are a student in the Smithville area with an interest in finance, or a parent or educator looking to connect a young person with meaningful opportunities, we’d love to hear from you. The next Lindsay Peters might just be waiting for their first chance.
